Sputnik 2010 Geocache: GC2JPJJ

On 18 December 2010, 3 Geocachers: Scott (e6c), Steve (Waya) and Tanya (Woyi) set out to launch a geocache in to space, film the entire adventure, return to earth and retrieve the cache. Video and picture footage captured by: Kodak Zi6 camcorder, Samsung Epic 4G android phone, Motorola Backflip android phone

The mission was a complete success! The cache reached a height of 101,000 feet and landed 124 miles from the launch site! All equipment was recovered intact and functioning properly!

GPS Bus Tracking with Tufts University

Ublip recently helped Tufts University with a campus bus tracking project. The objective was to make it easier for Tufts students to know the “Joey’s” current location. Some Tufts engineering students were able to integrate Ublip’s location feed into their existing application using GeoRSS. This video gives a brief overview.

TakItWithMe.com Google My Maps to GPS Demo

TakItWithMe, a new service by EarthNC Inc, provides a simple interface for transferring waypoints and routes from the new Google My Maps and Maplets to most portable Garmin GPS units. This video demonstrates using TakItWithMe in conjunction with the Google Real Estate Search Maplet to upload local house-for-sale locations to a GPS for use while house hunting.
