This is the 2nd GPS unit we have owned. We like it so far. It seems to have pretty good battery life (we haven't had to change them out yet and still showing full). Very few main roads, so I would not rely on this unit for the mapping capabilities or for use when travelling. It's great for geocaching and tracking your positions/waypoints though. There is only one thing we don't really like about it. It saves all my settings except for the screen brightness and the WAAS enabled/disabled feature. I have to redo those every time I turn the unit on again, but is a fairly quick and easy thing to remedy, so no major complaints yet
Pro : color screen, easy to use, long batt. life
Con : won't save brightness or WAAS settings
With a slight learning curve it is fun to use out of the box. Sometimes it displays accuracy to six feet and walking around the house confirms this. There are features I didn't know it had, such as altitude, moon phases, sunset times etc. Garmin says Mac interface will be coming. (customer support answered the phone directly, no waiting). I even got reception with this unit in an industrial building with a metal roof! Acquisition time is less than 30 seconds, older units took up to 6 ;minutes. Overall I like it quite well……
Pro : impressive quality build, functions exceed expectations
Con : no current Macintosh interface
