if i use a bluetooth gps receiver for satnav with my nokia n73, can i also use a bluetooth earpiece ?
i understand that bluetooth can only connect to one thing at a time, so would it work only when i got a call , then swap back to the gps receiver ?
i believe so
What model of GPS do you recomend for geocaching?
I am looking for a simple, cheap model, but don’t want a piece of junk.
Garmin 60 CSx. It seems to be the preferred model for serious cachers. I use one myself.
For a decent unit at a lower price, consider a Garmin eTrex Legend. Just be sure whatever you purchase has in interface (preferably USB) that allows caches to be uploaded directly from your computer.

It's a good piece if equipment. It is older than the models that they push now but it still works. When you buy this gear you also have to pay for a subscription to the service. It costs about $50 per year. Here's a link http://www.skygolfgps.com/SG_Membership_Plans.aspx
If you play in two states you have to go to the middle plan. Take for instace, me. I live in SE Pennsylvania, so I golf in PA and I also golf in southern New Jersey and Delaware and Maryland and in October, Vermont. So if you don't do that you have the low plan. But it's an annual membership so it's no big deal. Some other GPS systems make you pay for each course you download individually. But this is a good deal, I would buy it.
Is it possible to insert a type of tracking (GPS Device) device into a dog?
So that i will always know where my dog is, and if he runs away i will be able to find him.
Thanks
Garmin offers a great dog tracker but not sure how small does the tracker have to be for you.
You can read up about this dog tracker offered by Garmin by clicking on this link

Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc offer this type of tracker along with a standard tracking device like this one

Between one of these tracking device, it may suit for your purpose.

Where can I get a small moderately priced GPS tracking device?
My bike has been stolen recently. Unfortunately, I had no way of tracking where it is currently but if I had some type of device for tracking it, I would not be asking this question now. You might say I watch to many movies but is there an almost undetectable device that sends signals for at least 24 hours upon theft and has a range of at least 5 miles? I've heard of this used in vehicles but I don't have that type of money and such a device would be so cumbersome, its not even funny. I've been searching for a while but Im not a very patient person with these search engines. So, if you know anything about tracking devices, tell me what you know, otherwise, go on to another question. Thanks.
You could use a pet tracking GPS device such as the one at:
http://gps.buyerreports.org/2-172282-B000CEN0YC-Global_Pet_Finder_GPS_Tracking_Device_for_Pets.html
but you'll probably pay more for the device than for your bike — and the device may get stolen. Maybe a good chain and lock would be cheaper.
What’s the best car GPS for a beginning driver?
I get my license in two weeks and I’m looking for a GPS system.
I looked around the Garmin and TomTom sites very briefly but I’d like to get some opinions first.
I’d like to keep it for as long as possible so I could use it both locally and cross-country.
Also, of course, I’m looking for the lowest price possible.
Any recommendations?
Thank you!
I would reccomend a Garmin (from Best Buy of course j/k). They are all (Tom, Tom, Garmin, Magellans, etc) pretty simple to use, but Garmins screen display is more clear & easy to read than the others, from what I notice.
The color contrast makes it real easy to see, so you wont have to take eyes off the road for an extended amount of time.
GPS do they have to go through cigarette plug in the car?
My cigarette plug in my car is broken. Apparently the fuse is completely gone. However, I’d love to have a GPS in the car, because I’m planning on doing alot of travelling in the U.S.
I’ve tried to do some research on the internet, but nothing has indicated whether or not GPS systems can work in a car without the cigarrete plug.
Do you think it will last 8 hours without charging it?
Are they special batteries? Or like AA batteries?
It really depends on which model GPS you have.
Example: If you own a Garmin Street Pilot 7200, 7200, 2730, or even a Nuvi 5000 you will not be able to use your GPS without some sort of 12 volt power supply.
Same hold true for Magellan RoadMate 500, 700, 760 etc.
Most new Garmin Nuvi’s, Magellan Maestro’s and TomTom’s have internal battery and you maybe able to charge the GPS at home with a AC charger and use the internal battery power when you are driving with it.
So it really depends on what GPS model you own before someone can tell you if you can or can’t use it without a CLA.
You can also select to hard wire your GPS system in the car and you will not need a CLA in that case.
These units above does not have an internal battery so they must use external power source from your cigarette lighter plug.
Best is to buy a replacement CLA for your navigation system, they can’t be that much and it will save you tons of problems later on when you really need the system and don’t have it because of a missing CLA.
Good Luck
