Where can I buy a bluetooth GPS receiver (in person, not online)?
Does anyone know of any stores that would sell Bluetooth GPS receivers (and maybe the software/maps too)? I live in Colorado, if that helps. Thanks!
BestBuy or Circuit City
What materials and equipment do you need to go geocaching?
I've only heard a little bit about it.. It may be fun though! Let me know if you can help! ![]()
If you are interested in this, you also might be interested in Letterboxing. You can learn more by going to Letterboxing.org. All you need for this is (sometimes) a compass, a rubber stamp, stamp ink, and a small note pad. Letterboxing can be more interesting, as the clues to the box location vary greatly. In geocaching, all you do is follow the arrow on the GPS to the box.

Can I get On-Star/GPS with a Honda Fit?
If I can't get On-Star (which I think is GMC only, not sure) what other kinds of gps-type systems can I get with a Honda?
On-Star is not available on Hondas. If you only want Navigation, and not the On-Star service, then you can get any stand alone GPS system (Garmin, Tom Tom, Magellan, etc) and put it in the Fit. Honda does have cars that come with Navigation already installed, such as the Accord EX and the new Civic Si.
how does the gps work on the maps app for the blackberry storm?
i turned the gps to location instead of 911 only but still it wont work once in the maps application. do i need to buy VZ navigator?
Nope. Mine works fine. Are you inside? Or at least perhaps a heavily covered building? That can prevent the GPS signal from reaching you. Mine takes several minutes inside my house to connect to the GPS satellites, whereas in my car it only takes a few seconds.
Also, when you open BlackBerry Maps are you pressing “Start GPS Navigation”? That’s how you tell it to search for a satellite.
Do European versions of cell phones have GPS chips?
I was looking to buy an unlocked GSM phone from TigerDirect and the phone I want is the European version.
OK, I am not talking about GSM (Groupe Spécial Mobile or Global System for Mobile communications) which involves using a SIM card. I am talking about a GPS(Global Positioning System) chip. Its a location device using the Global Navigation Satellite System. They are required in US phones for 911 emergency calls.
Nearly all current european cell phones have GPS, as do most in the US. Unless the phone came out over 3 years ago, or is a bottom end model, it will have GPS.
Nearly all european phones operate on GSM, but they use several frequencies. US GSM phones operate on SOME of the same frequencies.
I have several unlocked US Nokia GSM phones(Tmobile & ATT/Cingular), and they work fine all over Europe, with the exception of parts of the Eastern Block. I have used them with a European sim card, and have used my US sim card. You probably will be fine, but could also google the model #, or call Tiger Direct to check the compatibility.
Good Luck!
Where can I buy a cheap, yet highly reliable, tracking device/gps, for tracking someones location?
I was wondering if there is a way you could buy a tracking/gps device where you could always keep track where a person is, or car. For instance, saying a close person to you parked their car somewhere and you wondered when they would be home but they would not tell you, and they sometime like to suprise you lol.
try circuit city or brands mart usa but what you really need is trust
Living in the US but moving back to Australia – What in-car GPS is the best for adding Maps?
Moving to Australia in 2009 and want to buy a GPS that will work for me here in the meantime and can download overseas maps easily – specifically Australia and New Zealand – Which is the best automotive GPS for this?
Get a Navman, I have this. You can buy different chips if you want to go overseas. To get the different chips its best to order it from the Navman website.
Is a airframe log entry required for replacing a GPS data card?
It is my second time replacing the data card in my GPS and i just want to make sure that the FAA will not screw me over something like this. Is there a log entry required?
No. While removing the gps would have ramifications, had you removed it and not made a logbook entry, the data card will not get you in trouble. It is looked upon much the same way as tossing out your expired enroute charts and replacing them with new ones. Getting busted with expired nav gps data is sort of like getting busted for flying with expired enroute charts
